Admission of Waste, 2026 was a collaborative project with Access to Higher Education Diploma students at Morley College London.

This exhibition examines how retail display strategies construct and reinforce perceptions of value, affordability, and status and can be understood as a form of curation.

Taking inspiration from Miranda July’s Interfaith Charity Shop project (2017), which saw a functioning retail space combine with a collaborative performance in the form of a charity shop installation on the prestigious 3rd floor of Selfridges, the Access cohort asks: why do we accept that some things cost more than others?

As with all fashion exhibitions, the spectre of profligate consumption looms large. Extending the metaphor of ‘clothing as currency’, admission to the opening evening costs each visitor one unwanted garment. Garments must be presented at the admissions desk and swapped or donated as 'payment' in order to gain access to this exhibition.
